Week One District 22-5A Game Predictions

Eisenhower vs North Shore is easily the most intersting game this week. North Shore weathered the storm and a storm from Aldine last week to win going away. They looked like the North Shore of old, will they play like that again? Mustangs fans have high hopes, Eisenhower's players were there to watch, so they know what to expect

FB Clements vs Dobie

Clements struggled with Seven Lakes last week and DObie is a better team than Seven Lakes. Siill Clements should not have had that much trouble in Week zero. This will be a test game for Clements, are they down this season or was Week Zero a fluke. We think Clements bounces back and wins by 21.

La Porte vs Clear Lake-

Clear Lake trounced Jersey Village 35-6 last week and looked like a top 20 team, in fact we jumped them to 21 in our rankings. La Porte is expecting a down season, ranked number 54. The Falcons are tough to take on when they are rolling and they seem to be rolling. This one could be ugly, Clear Lake by 35.

Pasadena Memroial vs Westbury

The Rebels came into the season with offensive issues which were only further exposed in a lackluster loss to Angleton. Memorial was holding its own against defending 24-5A champ Brazoswood before the rain forced them to settle for an official 7-7 tie. This should be an easy win for the Mavericks as QB Dylan Adamek should be quite productive. Memorial by 14.

South Houston vs Baytown Sterling-

first game of the season for both teams so it is time to stop the pre-season hype and get going. Sterling lost an important player to injury at receiver however South Houston has to prove they deserve not to be in the bottom 10 of our rankings before we move them up. Look for a solid matchup, Sterling by 10

Deer Park vs Alvin-

Deer Park played tough against a Top 20 Spring High team while Alvin just never got out of the gate against a lower ranked Elkins team. Alvin has to get something going on offense. Deer Park should look good again but we see Alvin getting some positives out of this one. Deer Park by 21

Eisenhower vs North Shore

After letting one slip by them last week against Humble, the Eagles face a tough one in North Shore. There will be plenty of talent on the field Friday in Galena Park and I think this one may be closer than many think. But still, I'll take the Mustangs. North Shore by 10

Milby vs Sam Rayburn

Coach Mike Woodley's team comes off a 27-13 win over Waltrip and gets a second easy opponent in the form of a Buffaloes team that just squeaked by Northbrook. RB Charles Umunnakwe will have to be accounted for if Milby wants to break even in the early going of the season. Umunnakwe isn't the only offensive tool in the Rayburn shed; QB Catarino Cantu completed 14 passes for 151 yards and three scores in the Texans' win over Waltrip. This could get out of hand quick. Rayburn by 20

Waltrip vs PAsadena-

a battle of two teams in the bottom 10 of their classification in our regional rankigns. Not much to talk here but one team gets some positives in the early going from this one. Waltrip got beat by Sam Rayburn 27-13, and we think Pasadena is a better team than Sam Rayburn this season. Pasadena by 14.
