This game may get interesting as both of these teams should match up well. Look for Taylor's Cullen Pabody and Rodney Mouton to each have a big game. For Austin, RB Chris Wilson will be one to watch. It's a tight race to the finish, but I'll go with Taylor. Taylor by 7.
FB Clements vs Dobie-
Clements struggled with Seven Lakes last week and DObie is a better team than Seven Lakes. Siill Clements should not have had that much trouble in Week zero. This will be a test game for Clements, are they down this season or was Week Zero a fluke. We think Clements bounces back and wins by 21.
Seven Lakes vs Dulles
I hoped Dulles learned a lesson from watching Clements last week against Seven Lakes. The Spartans gave the Rangers all they could handle and more, coming up one point short. Seven Lakes will try again for their first ever varsity victory as they face the Vikings in Sugar Land. Dulles came up short to Mayde Creek 28-21 last week, despite 2 touchdown passes by quarterback Tucker Morrow.
Elkins vs Lamar Consolidated
The Lamar Consoldated Mustangs started off a little slow against Waller last week, but got things rolling in the second half, cruising to a 31-14 victory. Next up for the defending District champs are the Elkins Knights, which are coming off of a 47-0 blowout of Alvin. Elkins will not find the going as easy against the Mustangs, and better bring a sack lunch for this one. Jacquizz Rodgers added on to his career touchdown totals with 3 against Waller, while D.J. Smallwood threw for two more
FB Marshall vs Hastings
Hastings managed to pull out the win against Hightower last week, but Marshall will likely be much more difficult. Reason? Defense. The Buffaloes are very physical on that side of the ball and I think it will be tough to move it on them. Defense wins games, period. Marshall by 14.
YAtes vs Willowridge-
Forget about the game this one is all about the bands. Willowridge's band lossed some key seniors but you know they have a deep bench, while Yates is seeing their band resurge back to former glory. Halftime victory will go to Yates. As for the game, Yates will trounce Willowridge by 28.
Brazoswood vs Bush-
rough first game for Brazoswood in Week Rain, err I mean Week Zero, they tied Pasadena Memorial 7-7. FB Bush got beat 35-7 by Alief Taylor. Brazoswood is a solid team and Bush is trying to get their feet in the right direction. Look for Brazoswood to take this one early. Brazoswood by 28
Hightower vs Klein Forest
The Golden Eagles and Hurricanes both come off dissapointing first games. However, Klein Forest managed to get a victory as Hightower lost. Klein Forest won this game last year as well and I think they take it again at home against their former HC Gene Johnson and his Hurricaes. Klein Forest by 10.
Alief Taylor vs FB Kempner
Coming off a dominating win last week, the Lions look to keep that momentum going. As they line up against Kempner this week, the same thing should happen as last week. Athlete Donte Elliott should have another big game. Alief Taylor by 10.
