Dayton at Nacogdoches- Troubles with the rain gave Dayton headaches last week in a loss to West Orange Stark. This week they are focused and are wanting to redeem themselves from their loss. Look for some offensive fire works here, Dayton by 28
Nederland at Forest Brook- Nederland should have some big time strut after knocking off Brenham last week. Forest Brook has falled on hard times in recent years but are still a dangerous team with that much athleticism on the field. This is Nederland's to lose. Bulldogs by 28
Crosby at Port Neches Groves- Port Neches lost a tough one to La Marque, game was closer than expected, but now faces an upstart Crosby team that has a lot of talent on the team. This will be a better indicator of how good PNG is rather than La Marque. Give Crosby this one in a close one, Crosby by 3
Lumberton at New Caney- New Caney starts the Russell Roberts era as they take on Lumberton for the season opener for both. This is a tough game to predict on paper Lumberton has the advantage but what will a new coach, a new attitude do for New Caney? Give this one to Lumberton by 3
Memorial (44) at Beaumont Ozen (30/4A) (Saturday night): Season opener for the Titans, who look to get off to a good start against an Ozen team that stood no match against West Brook last week. Memorial by 20.
West Orange Stark at Little Cypress- WOS coaches did not like their chances against Dayton last week, however the team came out and took advantage of mistakes and made the plays to win. Little Cypress is no slouch either and they won't roll over for WOS. The Mustangs are the favorites in this one by 14, they still have to watch out for a let down after the emotional game last week.
West Brook (13) vs. Beaumont Central (11/4A): Another game where the scoreboard will get a workout. The Bruins soundly beat Ozen, but hampered themselves with a slew of turnovers. That can't happen against a fast Jaguars team that looks to pull off the upset. Central has to account for WR Joshua Powdrill (7-130-2). The Bruins will trade shots early, but the Jags don't have the firepower to match blows with West Brook for 48 minutes. West Brook by 10.
