TPI's Week 1 Top Performers: 19-5A

With action going on all across the state, TPI's Ahmard Vital will highlight some of the top player performances from Week 1 in the District of 19-5A.

WR Gregory Timmons, Aldine Eisenhower
Going against one of the top teams in state, Timmons hauled in eight catches for 81 yards and two touchdowns. Even though the Eagles lost to North Shore 45-14, Timmons is one of the big time Class of 2009 playmakers for the Eisenhower football team.

RB Eric Banks, Northbrook
Banks is one of the key reasons for the Raiders' success to date. Against Houston Austin, Banks rushed five times for 150 yards and two touchdowns. Northbrook won the contest 49-13 and will line up this week against Waltrip. Look for Banks to have a big game this week also.

WR Tyson Williams, Aldine
Though they face some one of the toughest preseason teams in the area, the Aldine football team is poised for success. Williams, who is one of Darron Thomas' top receivers, had five receptions for 47 yards in the Mustangs 35-15 loss to Houston Lamar. Williams is a player to watch on the Aldine team.

RS Johnny Harris, Aldine Nimitz
Harris had a big kickoff return for a touchdown (87 yards) against Clear Brook in Week 1. Harris and the Nimitz squad is undefeated and face Port Arthur Memorial this week.

QB Derrick Rainey, Northbrook
The Raider's Rainey contributed big to the Northbrook homecoming win with his yardage on the ground. He had five carries for 132 yards and two touchdowns in a 49-13 victory over Houston Austin.
