Cy Falls RB's stock is rising

Cy Falls RB Shane Turner came into his senior season with a handful of interested Division I colleges. But now, he has picked up more interest and he even has a favorite. TPI caught up with Turner after a big win in Week 1 to talk updates in recruiting.

Cy Falls running back Shane Turner gained the attention of Division I coaches after a strong junior season when he rushed for over 1,200 yards and 14 touchdowns. Now a senior, he holds three offers and has plenty of college coaches interested.

But out of his offers, he named a favorite.

"I have offers from Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico State," Turner said. "If I had to name a favorite, it would be Utah. I like their team, especially their offense because it is similar to ours."

Turner is also picking up interest from Missouri, Auburn, and Northwestern. During the spring he was receiving interest from a few more schools, but some have not made contact of any kind since then. But he managed to pick up one or two more along the way.

"I just started getting some mail from Boston College," Turner said. "Fresno State was calling me towards the end of spring football and now they have started calling me again."

Fresno State is also ranked fairly high on Turner's list because it is in California near his brother.

In Week 1 against Spring Westfield, Turner was nearly unstoppable. He rushed for 179 yards and two touchdowns. As a receiver, Turner caught four passes for 67 yards and a touchdown against one of the state's top defenses.

Turner said he plans to make a commitment after the season and plans to make some official visits.
