Dual-threat QB has a few favorites

Langham Creek QB Max Jenkins has been slightly flying under the radar. As he heads into Week 2 of his senior year, Jenkins wants to let his play on the field speak for itself. And so far, it has. Along the way, he has managed to pull in some interest from Division I colleges. TPI brings you this recruiting update.

Langham Creek quarterback Max Jenkins had a strong junior season and is en route to doing even more as a senior. As it stands right now, he has not been getting too much interest from Division I colleges. But no worries, Jenkins said he will continue doing the best for his team and keep piling on the wins.

"I'm really trying to concentrate on my team right and focus on winning," Jenkins said. "Right now, Army is my only offer, but I really like the Rice and Tulsa programs."

Under Jenkins' leadership, the Lobos are 2-0 and the 6-1, 195-pound signal caller has been racking up the statistics. To date, he has 436 passing yards and two touchdowns. On the ground, Jenkins has six touchdowns and 209 yards.

But the athletics is not Jenkins' primary focus when choosing a school. Because of Jenkins' scholastic performance (4.6 GPA), he wants a school that he can be challenged academically.

"I really like Rice because I know I can get a good degree from there," Jenkins said. "I make good grades and I want to make sure I set myself up for success after college."

Jenkins had a chance to visit Tulsa over the summer and he said he really enjoyed it.

"I like the coaching staff up there and that is also a good school for education," Jenkins said.

The Langham Creek football team will try to extend their win streak to 3-0 this weekend against Katy Morton Ranch Saturday night.
