Week Two: 24-5A Game Predictions and Previews

Some traditional games this week as Washington renews their series against Ball again, Ball is looking good but was it just because they don't like La Marque or are they for real? Clear Creek needs to watch itself against Baytown Lee, the Ganders have talent and are well coached but have tripped at the gate, they will be looking to make a statement.

OVERIVEW: Some traditional games this week as Washington renews their series against Ball again, Ball is looking good but was it just because they don't like La Marque or are they for real? Clear Creek needs to watch itself against Baytown Lee, the Ganders have talent and are well coached but have tripped at the gate, they will be looking to make a statement. Of course Houston Memorial and Pearland is a game of intrigue. Pearland has found their next running back and have hardly skipped a beat from the past few seasons.

Alvin vs Texas City- Texas City got smacked around by Westside last week, Westside is obviously better than everyone thought. Now Alvin has to deal with a team that got embarassed and is looking to redeem itself from a bad loss. Alvin has given up an average of 37 points a game in two weeks, look for that to continue. Texas City will get in the win column by using their running game. Texas City by 28

Washington vs Ball- Ball played great against a probable state Champion team in La Marque, the question is can they carry that over to the rest of the season? This is the first time to see if those positives will continue and they have a Wasington squad that is down from a few years ago. Ball's offense has not fumbled the ball this year but they have thrown four interceptions, that has to stop. Defensively they have done a good job and that will continue this week. BAll by 35

Brazoswood @ Foster: The Foster Falcons opened their 2007 season last week by hosting the Montgomery Bears. Foster QB Zach Young did all he could for the Falcons, passing for three scores, but a late field goal by the Bears left Foster with a 30-27 defeat. Next up for the Falcons is Brazoswood, a team picked second in District 24-5A this year. Brazoswood by 21

Dobie vs Clear Brook- Clear Brook has played tough in two losses so far and things get easier with a Dobie team that is trying to get back to their former glory. One thing you won't see in this one is passing, both teams run the ball a lot. Clear Brook by 10

Clear Creek vs Baytown Lee- The Ganders have stumbled out of the blocks by turning over the ball nearly three times a game. They have to shut that down, Clear Creek has the same problem. The Ganders defense is playing a bit better than Clear Creek but this game will come down to turnovers, whoever reverses their problems wins. Baytown Lee by 10

Houston Memorial vs Pearland- Memorial came out hard against Jersey Village and pulled out the victory. The Mustangs will have to face a stingy Pearland defense and a run-happy offense led by Kasey Carrier. Oh yeah, and they play at ‘The Rig.' Pearland by 10

Clear Lake vs South Houston- Clear Lake is looking strong early on, their offense is putting nearly 400 yards of offense and 35 points a game a week. Their defense is only giving up 170 yards a game. South Houston has done well pulling a mild upset so far but this is a huge task to beat Clear Lake. Clear Lake by 30
