Teague Rolls Through Cooper

Teague's punishing ground game was too much for winless Cooper to handle on Saturday as the Lions rolled to a 3-0 record with a 55-7 win.

MESQUITE- The Teague Lions (3-0) rolled to an easy 55-7 win over the Cooper Bulldogs (0-4) Saturday afternoon at Mesquite Memorial Stadium. Teague used a punishing ground game that topped 300 yards to break open what was a 15-7 score at halftime. Teague was led by FB James Green who ran for 136 yards and 2 touchdowns and QB/DB Quinten Coleman who had 2 rushing scores and an interception on defense.

After forcing a Cooper three and out Teague QB Quinten Coleman burst around right end for a 33 yard touchdown run to put Teague up 8-0 with James Green's two point run, after the Lions defense stepped up and forced a second straight three and out. Teague would quickly go up two scores as Seth Watson burst around left end untouched for a 45 yard touchdown run, then he'd add the PAT to make it 15-0 Teague. Coleman would cap the drive with a 4 yard run to extend the THS lead to 36-7. Early in the fourth quarter Teague would take advantage of another Cooper fumble as Kenny Wright would score on a 16 yard run to make it 42-7 Teague.
