TPI District 19-5A: Week Five Preview (FREE)

It's Week 5 and district play is in full swing. This week look for the Aldine Nimitz and Houston Memorial game. Houston Stratford plays Aldine, Aldine Eisenhower will battle Northbrook, and Aldine Macarthur will face off against Spring Woods. TPI will break down each of these match ups.

Houston Stratford vs. Aldine: Stratford comes into this match up against an Aldine team looking for its first win of the season. Look for a nice quarterbacks duel with Stratford's Andrew Luck and Aldine's Darron Thomas. I see this game being a close one in which the Spartans come away victorious. Stratford by 7.

Aldine Nimitz vs. Houston Memorial: Aldine Nimitz is on a roll and the Cougars' ground game is very strong. With Marion Grice, Darius Celestine, and Michael Thomas, Nimitz has the slight edge offensively. It will come down to defense and I think the Cougars may have a slight edge. Aldine Nimitz by 10.

Aldine Eisenhower vs. Northbrook: Eisenhower's offense firepower has been very strong this season. Eagle QB Kenneth Guiton has thrown for over 1,000 yards and has plenty of skilled players surrounding him who can make plays. Northbrook will put up a fight like always, but I see the Eagles taking this one. Aldine Eisenhower by 21.

Aldine Macarthur vs. Spring Woods: Both teams had a good showing against their opponents last week. Macarthur came away with a win and Spring Woods put up 23 points against Houston Stratford. This game will likely be a good ground-game match up. With the Generals' win last week I see them carrying that momentum into this one. Macarthur by 14.
