Clear Lake DE waiting for offer, likes Owls

Clear Lake DE Nick Adams goes into his senior year with some interest, and even an early favorite. TPI caught up with Adams in Week 5 to get this recruiting update.

Clear Lake defensive end Nick Adams is actively working the recruiting process with a interest coming from a few Division I colleges. Though he does not currently hold an offer, he has some pretty strong interest.

"No, I have not been offered yet," Adams said. "But I have interest coming from Rice, Northwestern, and Navy. Navy is actually coming to one of my practices this week."

Even though the 6-3, 255-pound Adams is still very open to all of the interest that presents itself, it is evident that the local university has the upper hand on the competition.

"I would have to say Rice is my favorite," Adams said. "It is real close to home. I went to camp there over the summer. It seemed like they are one big family and they take care of their players."

While the football program may have wowed Adams, he also evaluated the school.

"At Rice, the classes are small," Adams said. "I like the fact that they have great academics and a solid program."

Adams and the Falcon team continue District 24-5A play this week when they take on Clear Creek Friday night.
