EVERMAN- The Everman Bulldogs (5-0, 2-0) scored 21 unanswered points in the second half to erase a 28-14 deficit to knock off the Aledo Bearcats (3-2, 0-2) 35-28 at Marr Stadium. Everman posted their fifth straight 400 yard rushing game as Clarence Jennings led the way with 161 yards and 3 touchdowns. Everman's Sedrick Harris chipped in 157 yards and one touchdown as well. Cole Loftin for Aledo was his usual stellar self notching nearly 200 yards of total offense and 3 touchdowns.

After stopping Aledo three and out on their first drive, Everman moved the ball down to the AHS 10 but Chris Franklin was hit hard by an Aledo LB and coughed the ball up to end the Bulldogs first scoring chance. Aledo would take advantage going 90 yards as QB Cole Loftin hit a wide open Ryan McGuire for a 40 yard touchdown pass and Cody Hale's PAT was good to make it 7-0. Everman's Ryan Smith would strike quickly returning the ensuing kickoff 74 yards to the EHS 8. The Bulldogs would get their first big play of the night as on their second play of the second half QB Sedrick Harris scored from 60 yards out to tie the game at 14 with 11:23 left in the third. Aledo would respond behind the sensational running of Loftin as he led the Bearcats down the field scoring from 5 yards out to give AHS a 21-14 lead. After stopping Everman on downs at the 25, the Bearcats scored on a perfectly executed reverse as Kenton Day scored from 73 yards out to make it 28-14 Aledo. Everman however would not be deterred as Jennings scored on a tremendous 63 yard run through the middle of the Aledo defense to make it 28-21 AHS with 3:52 left in the third. Everman's defense would step up and finally make a big play as Devin Woods would recover a Cole Loftin fumble at the Aledo 32 to give EHS new life. After getting a first down, Everman's hopes to tie the game were hurt by a clipping penalty which set the ‘Dawgs back with first and 25. The Bulldogs however on 4th and 14 would get a 15 yard run by Harris down to the Aledo 9 to keep the drive going. Everman on a 4th and goal from the one would score on a one yard run from Jennings to tie it up at 28 with 8:31 left. Aledo would get out of jail on their next drive as on 3rd and 19 from their own 17 Joel Hasley converted a first down on a diving reception along the Aledo sideline to keep the drive going. Everman would eventually force a punt and the Bulldogs would go on a methodical scoring drive led by the brilliant running of Harris who converted two straight fourth downs to keep the drive alive. The Bulldogs would take their first lead of the game as Devin Woods scored on a 9 yard run to put Everman up 35-28 with 15 seconds left. The touchdown was the first of the season for the Everman. Aledo would have one final shot as backup QB Brady Thomas found Cole Loftin in the end zone for the apparent game tying score but he was ruled out of bounds and the Bulldogs would escape with a hard fought come from behind win 35-28.
