Aldine OLB talks Purdue visit

One of Greater Houston's top LB's just returned from his second official visit to Purdue. Aldine OLB Anthony Lewis is back in the city and gives TPI the inside on how he felt when he visited the Boilermaker program.

Aldine outside linebacker Anthony Lewis has multiple Division I offers after a strong junior year. Now the Mustang athlete has just returned from an official visit to Purdue.

"It was an okay visit," Lewis said. "I like the game and the fans. It was packed for their game against Ohio State."

Though the Boilmakers did not come out on the winning end of the game (23-7), Lewis still enjoyed the visit as a whole. But compared to his visit to Minnesota, Lewis saw a few things that were different and caught his attention.

And he did hang out with the players and talked about his future major also.

"It seemed like it was kind of quiet down there," Lewis said of West Lafayette, Indiana. "In Minnesota it was more like a city. But the players and me got along well and we talked football. I also got the chance to check out their engineering program. "

With the Minnesota and Purdue visits out of the way, Lewis is still not naming a favorite. He said his next stop would be to Nebraska on November 10 to see the Cornhuskers play Kansas State

After Nebraska, Lewis does not have another official visit set up at the moment.

"I do not have favorites because I want to keep all of my options open until the day I commit," Lewis said. "And right now, I don't have anything set up after Nebraska."

Aside from recruiting, Lewis is going hard everyday to lead his team to a victory. The Mustangs current 0-5 record does not sit well with him. Though he has been a leader up to this point, he fells like he needs to do more to help out the team.

"Really, I have to be a leader by example," Lewis said. "When I play good, others will see it. In just about all of our games we are up at halftime. We just have not learned to finish teams off."

Lewis and the Mustang squad will look for their first win this Saturday when they face Houston Northbrook.
