TPI's Week 5 Top Performers: 17-5A

With all the football action going on all across the state, TPI's Ahmard Vital will highlight some of the top player performances from Week 5 in the District of 17-5A. And hold on tight because there are plenty of them.

QB Russell Shepard, Cy Ridge
Shepard continues to prove time and time again how lethal he is in the shotgun. He ran for a career-high 337 yards and five touchdowns (4 over 40 yards). The Rams are still undefeated in district play after a 51-35 win over Cy Falls.

RB Sam McGuffie, Cy Fair

QB Jeff McVaney, Strake Jesuit
McVaney leads the Crusader team and once again makes TPI's list. He threw for 176 yards, a touchdown and an interception. The Crusaders are still undefeated with McVaney under center with a 27-24 win over Langham Creek

The Cougar quarterback is consistent in putting up big numbers. Thompson was 23-of-43 for 228 yards and two touchdowns. Cy Creek lost to Cy Springs 28-21.

WR Nick Davila, Langham Creek
Davila is another one of quarterback Max Jenkins' targets who can get the job done. He caught eight passes for 127 yards and a touchdown in a losing effort as the Lobos fell to Starke Jesuit 27-24.
