Westfield RB plays big, waiting for offer

Spring Westfield RB Bo Walker could easily be referred to as one of Greater Houston's premier backs. Despite flying under the radar for some time, Walker is on track this season for a big year with plenty of yards. TPI caught up with Walker for this recruiting update.

Even though Spring Westfield running back Bo Walker started this season off without an offer, that does not change the fact that could possibly be a good edition to a few Division I programs. With back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons, Walker has some interest and even a few favorites.

"I don't have any offers, but I have some people looking at me," Walker said. "Kansas State, Missouri, Kansas, Houston, and TCU have all sent me some things. I really like TCU and UH. I hear from UH about twice a week"

With the Horned Frogs and Cougar programs being named as favorites, Walker continues putting up the numbers on the gridiron. In a recent game against district opponent Klein Forest, Walker rushed for 97 yards and a touchdown.

"It's a Christian school and I like that a lot," Walker said. "They have produced some good backs including my idol LT (LaDainian Tomlinson). Their athletic program is one of the top in the nation."

On Houston:
"It's close to home and I like that," Walker said. "I went to camp there and like it a lot. The athletic program is coming up and that is good."

As Walker and the Mustang team head into Week 7, Walker has already broke the 1,000-yard mark for the season. He has 1,040 yards and 10 touchdowns to date. As far as his running style, Walker sees himself more of an all-purpose back.

"I would consider myself a balanced back with okay speed (4.42)," Walker said. "I think what makes me special is I don't take no for an answer. Because when I am running, I am down-hill."

Walker and the Mustang squad continue District 16-5A play this on Saturday, Oct. 27 against Klein.
