TPI District 19-5A: Week Seven Preview

Week 7 is here and the competition for postseason play is upon us. Here are the line-ups for this week. This week look for the Aldine Nimitz and Aldine Eisenhower game to be a good one. Houston Stratford plays Aldine Macarthur, Aldine will battle Spring Woods, and Northbrook will face off against Houston Memorial. TPI will break down each of these match ups.

Houston Stratford vs. Aldine Macarthur: Stratford comes into this match up facing a never-say-die Macarthur team. Though the Spartans won last year's contest, the Generals are proving that they want to be major players in the district. After falling to Memorial last week, they will be hungry to pull in their third win. This game will likely be close, but I see QB Andrew Luck and the Spartan squad taking this one. Stratford by 10.

Aldine Nimitz vs. Aldine Eisenhower: Two undefeated district teams face off in what I like to call the ‘Aldine ISD Super Bowl.' Aldine Nimitz has a tenacious rushing attack led by RB Marion Grice and Eisenhower has the deadly air assault led by QB Kenneth Guiton. This will be game you do not want to miss (I know I won't). When it is all said and done, I think it will be a fairly low scoring game in which the Eagles come out on top. Aldine Eisenhower by 3.

Aldine vs. Spring Woods: Aldine picked a win last week and should do the same again. As the Mustangs face off against Spring Woods, look for QB Darron Thomas and WR Tyson Williams to hook up often. Aldine should take this one. Aldine by 21.

Houston Memorial vs. Northbrook: After a huge win over Aldine Macarthur last week, the Mustangs take on Homecoming opponent Northbrook. I see this game being a rout. Northbrook has all the fight in the world, but the Raiders are simply overmatched in this game. Memorial by 24.
