DB Long ready to hit the road

Aldine Nimitz DB Ray Anthony Long has his plate full as he and the Cougar team continues dominance in the 2007 season. And to go along with this, he still has to take care of his business with recruiting. With three offers in hand, Long took time to speak with TPI about his plans.

DB Ray Anthony Long stands 6-1, 190-pounds and has been going hard on the field for the past two seasons. And it has paid off. To date he holds three offers and looks to begin taking his official visits. With the season and recruiting, Long plans to be very busy this year.

"Right now I have offers from California, Arkansas, and Buffalo," Long said. "I am looking at all three and have already visited Buffalo. But what I want to do is visits a few schools I don't have offers from like Arizona State, Missouri, and UTEP."

According to Long, the trip to Buffalo went well. But the other schools mentioned have shown him enough interest to where he feels like it is worth his time to check it out.

He has apparently kept close contact with these schools and they are all worthy of his attention.

"I talked with Arizona State a couple of weeks ago and they want to get me down there," Long said. "Missouri came by my practice and they want me to come as well. The same goes with UTEP. As far as Buffalo, I feel they are a program on the rise and the coach told me I could get playing time right away."

On the field, Long is averaging about four tackles a game and already has two interceptions on the season. In 2006, he recorded 70 tackles, two forced fumbles, and an interception returned for a touchdown.

He has not named a clear favorite, but has already set for his next visit.

"I plan to go to Arizona State within the next two-three weeks," Long said.

Long and the undefeated Cougars will face a tough Aldine Eisenhower team this Friday night.
