Houston Lamar RB hearing from Big 12 schools

Houston Lamar RB Jeremy Craft is one of Houston's top ‘backs especially when you break down the numbers. Though he is racking up the yardage, he is still flying under the radar and has yet to pull in an offer. TPI got a call from Craft this week to get this update.

Jeremy Craft of (Houston) Lamar High School considers himself to be a running back who knows how to get things done when the game is on the line. It is apparent that Division I colleges think the same thing. At the moment he does not hold an offer, but Craft gave us the low down on who is checking him out.

"I do not have an offer, but I have interest coming from Oklahoma, Kansas, Oklahoma State, and Kansas State," Craft said. "I was also told that LSU and Texas wanted a game film from me. Here recently, I also got a call from North Dakota."

With an overload of interested schools from the Big 12 Conference, Craft has actually named two schools he would like to hear from. The 5-9, 194-pound back prefers schools that have produced other top running backs.

"I would have to say Oklahoma and LSU are my favorites," Craft said.

On Oklahoma:
"They are a running school," Craft said. "They run the I-formation and I feel I would fit right in with their system and earn a job."

"I just like the SEC as a whole," Craft said. "I think that is the best conference to get you ready for the next level. LSU likes to run the football a lot too."

Craft is one of the Top 20 backs in the city with rushing yards. To date, he has gained 840 yards on 92 carries and seven touchdowns. Craft's numbers can likely be attributed to his 40 time of 4.4 and he averaging more than nine yards per carry.

In his last game against Houston Madison, he had 115 yards. Craft and the 6-1 Redskins team will battle Houston Westside this Saturday night.
