TPI District 19-5A: Week Nine Preview

As we head into Week 9, a few teams from each district have already locked in a playoff spot. Here are the line-ups for this week. This week look for the Aldine Nimitz and Houston Stratford game. Aldine Eisenhower plays Aldine, Houston Memorial will battle Spring Woods, and Aldine Macarthur and will face off against Northbrook. TPI will break down each of these match ups.

Houston Stratford vs. Aldine Nimitz: This game will be a good one. Nimitz has dropped the last two games so look for a fired up Cougar squad. Stratford will face a tough defense, so expect QB Andrew Luck to be on his ‘A' game. Nimitz's Michael Thomas and Marion Grice will look to move the ball on the Spartan defense. I see this one coming down to the wire and Nimitz will come out on top. Aldine Nimitz by 3.

Aldine Eisenhower vs. Aldine: The undefeated Eagles are on a roll and don't look for that to stop. This old-time neighborhood rivalry goes back many years. Aldine has looked good over the past two weeks, but Eisenhower is a much better competitor than the Mustangs' last two. Aldine will hang tough, but in the end will fall short. Aldine Eisenhower by 14.

Houston Memorial vs. Spring Woods: Memorial will look to bounce back after the loss to Aldine last week. Though the offense may be sputtering a little this year, the Mustangs should not have any trouble with Spring Woods. Houston Memorial by 14.

Aldine Macarthur vs. Northbrook: This game will be over by the first half. Macarthur has been able to put up points on teams lately and picked up momentum knocking off Nimitz last week. Northbrook will fight once again, but will likely fall short, by a lot. Aldine Macarthur by 24.
