Loston has favorite in SEC

Aldine Eisenhower DB Craig Loston exploded onto the recruiting scene and picked up several offers after a strong sophomore season. Now in his junior year, he is clearly one of the top defensive backs in the country. With several offers in hand, Loston named an early favorite. TPI brings you the latest in this recruiting update.

It didn't take long for Division I coaches across the country to realize that Aldine Eisenhower defensive back Craig Loston is the real deal. After recording 101 tackles and two interceptions as a sophomore, the four-star athlete is all across the radar with almost every major college in the country.

Standing at 6-2, 203-pounds, Loston has proven that he is a player to watch from the Class of 2009.

"I have offers from Colorado, Florida, Minnesota, Kansas State, Texas Tech and Texas A&M," Loston said.

With the offers he is holding right now, he named a favorite from the SEC.

"I would have to say that Florida is my early favorite," Loston said. "I like their style of play down there. I think I would fit in well with their system. They have a great history of good safeties from previous years."

Though Loston is primarily a safety, he plays a role in all facets of the game. For the Eagle squad, he lines up at wide receiver and is the team's punter. On the season, Loston has two interceptions and is averaging about 14 tackles a game.

"I want to be that person who can play either offense or defense," Loston said. "I am one who will do whatever a team needs me to do."

Loston and the Eisenhower team will finish off the regular season this Friday against Aldine. They have already clinched a playoff spot.
