B.F. Terry DB talks Purdue visit

Rosenberg Terry defensive back Lekenwic Haynes is all over the recruiting radar after a strong junior season. With offers in hand, Haynes has named a new favorite. Haynes' season came to a close last week and has started to hit the road. He just returned from an official visit to Purdue. TPI caught up with Haynes to how the visit went.

Despite a Week 10 win over Katy Seven Lakes, Rosenberg Terry defensive back Lekenwic Haynes and Ranger football team will not see postseason action. Though he would have loved to enjoy to see his high school career continue, Haynes is focused on recruiting.

The 6-4, 198-pound Haynes just returned from an official visit from Purdue and had this to say.

"It was a great trip," Haynes said of Purdue. "I got to hang out with the players and coaches. I got the chance to see a practice and watch them go through walk-throughs."

Haynes watched the Boilmakers team against Michigan State. Though Purdue lost 48-31, Haynes said the environment felt good.

"I loved it and the fans were hype," Haynes said. "I was a packed game and it was loud. Right now I would have to say they are my favorite now. I do not have anything negative to say about Purdue."

Next on the list for Haynes is Arkansas. He also mentioned that Missouri was heavily recruiting him, but he stated that when it comes down to it, two stand out.

"I plan to visit Arkansas soon," Haynes said. "Once I go to Arkansas, I will see how the visit goes. Then it will come down to Purdue or Arkansas."
