TPI's Region III Top Performers: 4A (area)

With all the football action going on all across the state, TPI's Ahmard Vital will highlight some of the top player performances from the area playoff round in 4A Region III.

RB Jacquizz Rodgers, Lamar Consolidated
What could possibly be said about Rodgers that has not already been said? In the area playoff match up against Port-Neches Groves, Rodgers was the man, again. He has 196 yards and four touchdowns in a 26-7 winning effort. Rodgers, an Oregon State commit, has more than 7,500 yards for his career (which ranks him No. 9 all-time in Texas history) and more than 125 total touchdowns. 
Rodgers and the Mustang team will face Austin LBJ Saturday afternoon at Kyle Field in College Station.

RB Cody Hussey, Lumberton
Hussey made plays in many aspects of the game in the area playoff game against LaMarque. Hussey had 141 yards and a touchdown rushing. He also had four catches for 126 yards and a touchdown receiving in a 24-21 win over the Cougars. Lumberton will take on Waller Friday night at Rice Stadium. 

ATH A.J. Dugat, Dayton
Dugat was a serious playmaker in the Broncos' 42-10 win over Texas City in the area playoff round. Dugat had nine catches for 96 yards and two touchdowns. He also threw a touchdown pass. Dugat and the Dayton team advance and will face Livingston Friday night at Galena Park ISD Stadium.

QB Jairus Kerlegan, LaMarque
Kerlegan put up big numbers against Lumberton in the area playoff game despite the outcome. In a 24-21 loss, Kerlegan rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns. He also threw for 264 yards and two interceptions.
