Jenkins to commit soon, talks Ivy League

Langham Creek QB Max Jenkins is not only one of Greater Houston's passing, but also a big-time sleeper for whatever team decides to pick him up. With a few schools interested in his abilities (on and off the field), Jenkins looks to possibly commit before the February signing day. TPI had the chance to talk with Jenkins about a few of his options.

With his senior season now over, Langham Creek quarterback Max Jenkins is hitting the recruiting trail pretty hard. Though he holds one offer in hand, the 6-1, 195-pound Jenkins has a handful of schools that would love to see him on campus in the fall.

"My only offer is still from Army, but I have been on the phone with others," Jenkins said. "Columbia is coming by my house this week and I have been talking to Brown, Harvard, Dartmouth, and Montana State. I am keeping all of my options open. I look to make a decision in a month or two."

As far as visits are concerned, he plans to schedule a few during the month of December. One that is already on the books is Army, which is scheduled for December 7.

He said he is in the process of producing his senior highlight video because several of these schools have requested it. Of course, with many of the schools listed, it must mean that Jenkins is a solid student-athlete.

During the last interview Jenkins said his GPA was 4.6 and he is more than open at an Ivy League opportunity.

"I understand that football can only take you so far," Jenkins said. "I am happy to have the grades to go along with my athletic ability. I look to go somewhere where I can play competitive football and get a good education."

This season, Jenkins had 2,112 yards and 15 touchdowns passing. On the ground, he rushed for 526 yards and nine touchdowns.
