Long has plenty of visits to set up

Aldine Nimitz DB Ray Anthony Long has a full agenda lined up in regards to football recruiting. He has three offers, but he keeps in contact with several other programs and plans to visit many of them. Where does he plan to go? TPI spoke with Long about upcoming visits and favorites.

During this time of year athletes are busy trying to pull in more interest while setting up official visits to various colleges. This is the course of action that Aldine Nimitz defensive back Ray Anthony Long is going through right now.

He holds three offers, but from the sound of things there will be more to come.

"My offers are from California, Arkansas, and Buffalo," the 6-1, 195-pound Long said. "I have a visit set up with Cal for some time in January. I am also talking and in the process of setting up visits with Hawaii and Louisiana Tech."

Besides these schools, Long said he is also talking with Oklahoma State, Rice, Arizona State, and Navy frequently. So with all of this interest out there for Long, is there any schools that are his favorites?

"Everything is even and wide open," Long said. "All the schools that I plan to visit are at the top, but I am keeping all options open. But Cal was the first school to offer me and call the most.

"Hawaii just started calling recently and that is a school I look forward to visiting. LaTech also came on at the end of the season."

Long, who considers himself a balanced player (run-to-pass defense), recorded more than 70 tackles, two interceptions, and a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown. He said he plans to book all of his visits and is in the process of sending out his senior tape.
