Big 12 school on top for Houston WR

When Houston Davis WR Jerrell Jackson ended this season without an offer, he started to get a little worried about where his recruitment stood. But all that changed over the Christmas break. Not only did he receive an offer, but it was also to a Big 12 school that he has a lot of interest in. What school is he in favor of? TexasPrepInsider has the low down on Jackson's recruitment.

Despite putting up big numbers during his senior season, Houston Davis (TX) wide receiver Jerrell Jackson did not have an offer until here recently. But when he finally pulled one in, to him, it was a big one.

"I got an offer from Missouri right before Christmas," the 6-foot-1, 175-pound Jackson said. "Me and my family were so happy and we had a great Christmas."

Now with that out of the way, Jackson looks to make a trip down there and has an official visit set for January 18. Outside of this, Jackson has also been getting a look from a school in the Mountain West and a host of others.

"I also have interest coming from TCU, North Dakota State, and Trinity JC," Jackson said. "I hope TCU will offer soon."

With all of this interest and a new offer, Jackson said that Missouri and TCU top his list of favorites. Jackson's senior year was a big one hauling in 34 receptions and scoring 14 touchdowns.

"Missouri or TCU, I'll go to either one of them," Jackson said. "I would likely choose Missouri over TCU, but we'll see what happens."

He explained that he likes both team's offenses and said he has the opportunity to make plays for both squads. But after his visit he hopes to have a clearer picture about where he wants to spend his next 4-5 years.

"I have talked with the (Missouri) coaches and they seem cool," Jackson said. "It seems like they have a family environment down there and I like that. I want to check out the academics and the dorm rooms and see how I like it. Then I want to see how the coaches and players are.

"If I like it, then I will choose Missouri."
