Lone offer for Texas LB

When Grapevine LB Ethan Davis went into his senior season, he was hoping to pull in much more interest than he has. But either way, he has his sights set on a particular school. He has the size, the numbers, and the offer. Now, here comes the visit and a possible commitment. TexasPrepInsider talked with Davis about his offer and visit

Despite putting up big numbers in the 2007 season, linebacker Ethan Davis of Grapevine (TX) High School has not pulled in the interest he was hoping for. But no worries here for Davis. He has an official visit set for this specific school and he is really looking forward to it.

"I have an offer from Stephen F. Austin State right now and that is the school I keep in contact with the most," Davis said. "At one time I was talking with Nebraska, but I don't really talk with them anymore."

Davis' visit to Nacogdoches is for January 18. But, in the mean time, he is still open to more interest that may come his way.

"I sent some tapes out right before Christmas so we'll just have to see what happens," Davis said.

Since SFA is at the top of his list, the 18 could be the day he makes the big decision.

"I'm going to check out the facilities, talk with the coaches, and meet the players," Davis said. "If that goes well, I'll probably commit."

This past season, the 6-foot-3, 210-pound Davis recorded 112 tackles and five sacks.
