Once again Copperas Cove is a destination point for recruiters heading to Central Texas and the Bulldawgs have a good one in WR/DB Josh Boyce who has been a part of back to back Class 4A state runner up teams the past two seasons. The 6'0 180 pound senior to be with 4.5 speed in the forty earned first team all 16-4A honors as a return man and second team all 16-4A honors as a WR hauling in 41 passes for 593 yards and 5 touchdowns along with averaging nearly 27 yards a punt return with two going for touchdowns. In 2006 as a sophomore Josh had 13 receptions for 121 yards and a touchdown.

Boyce besides having good speed sports a 240 pound bench press max and a 315 pound squat max and a 32 inch vertical leap. Not only does Josh star for CCHS on the football field he's also a member of the basketball team and track team. "My number one asset is my good hands but I also run good routes," said Boyce who plans on spending lots of time in the weight room and working on his speed this off-season.

The dangerous weapon from Copperas Cove lists Florida, LSU, Hawaii, Texas Tech and Kansas as his top five schools but none of those five stand out above the rest at this time. Josh spends the majority of his summer on the football field as a member of the Copperas Cove 7 on 7 team. "I hope we can make it back to the state tournament this summer, since last year was the first time we didn't qualify for state since 7 on 7 got started," replied the Copperas Cove WR when asked about 7 on 7 play this summer.

Josh plans on majoring in Kinesiology as he'd like to become a coach after college says campus location, academics and who he bonds with the coaching staff will play key roles in deciding where he lands after high school. However, Boyce won't rush to make any decisions as he likely won't decide on his future until after the 2008 season. With back to back state runner up finishes it's not hard to imagine Josh has lofty goals for 2008, "I am hoping we can win state next year, we've gotten so close the past two years it would be great to win it all."
