Keldon Hampton will be looking to put up more big numbers as he'll don a new uniform in 2008 as the 6'2 210 pound running back with 4.48 speed will be a member of the Spruce Timberwolves in 2008. "I transferred to Spruce at the end of the semester and so far things are going well, I'm looking forward to playing with my new teammates next year," said Hampton.

Keldon who sports a bench press max of 315 pounds and a squat max of 500 pounds earned first team all 11-5A honors in 2007 as a member of the Dallas Skyline Raiders. Keldon who helped Skyline to a 12-2 record and a trip to the Class 5A Division 1 State Quarter-Finals ran for 554 yards and 13 touchdowns averaging over 7 yards per carry.

Besides starring on the football field, Keldon also runs track as he specializes in the 100, 200 and all relays. "I think my biggest strength is that I am a tough runner, I'm a good blocker and I'm versatile because I can line up at tailback or fullback and I can catch the ball out of the backfield," said Hampton.

Keldon says right now as things stand his two favorites are Texas Tech and Oklahoma State but Iowa, Tennessee, Missouri, Minnesota and Miami are also in the mix to land the speedy running back.

This summer look for Keldon at least two mini-camps along with playing some seven on seven for Spruce. Hampton who plans on majoring in Kinesiolgy says academics along with who he fits in with the program as main factors in deciding where he'll spend his college years.

Don't look for a decision from Keldon until after the 2008 season, as he'll look to help Spruce to make a bigger impact in the playoffs after a 7-5 season in 2007. "I want to help my new team make a playoff run and win district, that's my main goal for next season."
