Offers coming soon for Trice?

With spring ball approaching, Mesquite defensive back Marcus Trice is busy trying to get in as many unofficial visits as possible. His interest includes several Conference USA and Big 12 schools. What are his plans for the month? TexasPrepInsider has the update.

Like many other athletes across the state, bags are packed and plenty of trips are being made. Among that elite group of athletes, one must include Mesquite (TX) defensive back Marcus Trice

"The twins (Darius and Darnell Taylor) and I have SMU this weekend and either Tulsa or Nebraska on April 19," Trice said in a recent text message. "I am going to Kansas on April 12 for the Kansas spring game."

The 5-foot-8, 170-pound Trice has also been in contact with North Texas and Tulsa as well, but has not gotten his first offer. But he feels that will change with a good performance this off-season.

"I think my first offer will come from Tulsa or North Texas," Trice said. "If I have a good spring, I think at least one of them will offer."

Either way, Trice has been working the recruiting process strong to make himself more visible. Despite not having an offer at the moment, he feels like the process is going quite well.

Aside from doing the necessary workouts, he has been sending plenty of game tapes and transcripts to many of the schools listed above.

"I'm happy with the way things have been going, but I didn't expect it to go this good," Trice said. "I have been sending out lots of tapes and transcripts and have been invited to quite a few junior days and spring games."

During Trice's junior season, he recorded 65 tackles (30 for loss) and two fumbles recoveries.
