'Clutch' QB has another offer

When it comes to recruiting, Fort Bend Clements' Derek Carr is ‘pumped up' about his offers and interest. Now, he has another one from and in-state school. Scout.com has the update.

After leading his team to multiple comeback victories and pulling in a few offers this season, Fort Bend (TX) Clements quarterback Derek Carr is excited about how recruiting is going up to this point.

Now the 6-foot-3, 185-pound Carr has a new offer in hand.

"SMU offered me today," Carr said. "I was pumped to get that offer especially now that coach June Jones is there."

That bring Carr's official offer count to two with SMU and Utah to go along with the "you have a home here" statement he received from Fresno State

With spring football around the corner, Carr said he does not plan to make any more visits this off-season because he wants to wait and see if there are more offers that will be extended to him. After that, he plans to use the summer time to visit the schools that have offered him.

Carr threw for 1,700 yards and 17 touchdowns as a junior.
