Another in the line of South Garland Offensive Line products is 6'4 305 pound Guard Jeramie Roberts. Boasting a 550 pound squat max the three year starter for the Colonels has played a major role in SGHS posting a 10-2 record and advancing to the Class 5A Area Playoffs in 2007 as he earned second team all 10-5A honors.

"My biggest strength is my quick feet as it really helps me in pass blocking, I'm really looking to work on getting strong and faster and getting better with my hands," said Roberts when asked to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of his game.

As things stand right now Jeramie doesn't have any favorites but his top four includes Baylor, Miami, Kansas and SMU. This summer look for the South Garland OG too attend mini-camps at Oklahoma, Baylor and SMU and next weekend Roberts will be on the Baylor campus.

Roberts who plans on majoring in Real Estate says academics and how he feels he fits in on a particular campus will factor in the decision of where he'll ply his craft in college. The decision is one that will be made sometime before August says Roberts so the wait won't be long.

"Even though we have a new coach, I still think we have a good shot at winning district again, people might be counting us out but I think we'll surprise a lot of people this season," said the SGHS Guard who is expecting a big 2008.
