Tweedy looks for stocks to rise after combine

At the Under Armour/Scout.com Combine in New Orleans this past Saturday there were not a lot of Texas athletes. But of the ones there, a few shined. One of those was The Woodlands wide receiver Alex Tweedy. Scout.com caught up with the talented Tweedy after the combine for this recruiting update.

With only one offer in hand, the Woodlands (TX) wide receiver Alex Tweedy is going hard this off season in hopes of gaining the exposure needed to land a Division I scholarship.

After working out against some of the top athletes in the state of Louisiana and Mississippi at the Under Armour/Scout.com Combine Saturday in New Orleans, the 6-foot-0, 174-pound Tweedy walked away pleased with his performance.

"I was real excited and felt I did real well," Tweedy said if testing and overall performance. "It's good to see how I compared to other athletes around the nation. I did well in the forty (4.56), broad jump (10 feet), and 37 vertical. Overall, I think I tested real well."

In the passing drills Tweedy was pegged as one of the top receivers at the combine. But he is not done with his off-season rounds. He also plans to attend some summer camps and combines.

"I'm going to take a couple of visits over the summer. I'm definitely going to Northwestern and I will probably go to Colorado State again."

At the moment, Tweedy's only offer is from South Dakota State, but said he also has interest coming from Arizona, Texas Tech, and Boise State."

Tweedy finished the season with 48 catches for 786 yards and eight touchdowns. As a return specialist, he had 10 punt returns for 148 yards and a touchdown.
