One of the big sleepers in East Texas is Mount Pleasant LB Tevin Elliot. The 6'2 204 pound senior to be with 4.6 speed in the forty boasts some impressive measurables as he sports a 285 pound bench press, a 415 pound squat max and a 30 inch vertical leap.

A three year starter for the Tigers, Elliot was named first team all 11-4A in 2007. Tevin besides starring on the football field is also a member of the MPHS basketball, baseball and track squads which is impressive as you don't see too many four sport letterman at a Class 4A school.

"I think my biggest strength is my smarts, I am also a physical player and I am good in run support," replied the LB from Northeast Texas. Elliot says this summer he wants to improve his footwork and he wants to improve his already impressive forty time.

Oklahoma State and Texas A&M currently lead the race to land the Mount Pleasant star but Oklahoma, UTEP, Tulsa, Kansas and TCU are also in the mix. Elliot who has already impressed at the Scout.com/UnderArmour Combine in April plans on attending camps at Oklahoma State and TCU this summer.

"I think academics will be the number one thing I look at when choosing a school, but I also want to go to a school where I have a chance to play early," said Elliot who plans on majoring in Business. The decision on where Tevin lands will likely not come until after the 2008 season however. After helping the Tigers to a surprising playoff run in 2006 and a 6-5 mark a trip to the playoffs in 2007 Elliot has bigger goals in mind, "Getting to the playoffs is nice but I want to win some games this year. I think we've got the program turned around and it's time to take the next step."
