On offense, Quinlan Ford will be very young returning only two starters. One key returner is RB Nathan Riley who posted 3 rushing touchdowns last year. Other than Riley, the Panthers will depend on reinforcements from their strong JV squad that posted a winning record.
Quinlan Ford will count on their defense to lead the way with just three starters back that could be a dicey proposition also. DE Gabe Ybarra leads the Panthers defense as he earned second team all 10-3A honors as a junior. LB's Justin Dickerson and Michael Bates will solidify the defense but the secondary is a question.
Overall, with the move to 13-3A Quinlan Ford should fare well. Losing some tougher teams to other districts and having Royse City move up to 4A helps quite a bit. I expect Ford to be right in the mix for a district title and they could actually be a team to watch in 2009 as they will be young this season.
