Despite being surrounded by big time talent, Taylor has made a name for himself this summer with some strong 7 on 7 play and good camp performances. The 6'4 197 pound senior to be with 4.65 speed and a 30 inch vertical leap earned second team all 16-4A honors with 25 receptions for 406 yards and 4 touchdowns in 2007.
Taylor who is a three year letterman for Brownwood and a two year starter on the gridiron is also a three year starter in baseball and basketball for the Lions. "I describe myself as a physical receiver with good hands who sees things develop before they happen," said Taylor who has spent time working on his speed and strength this summer.
Parker says he doesn't have any favorites but he has gotten interest from Rice, Kansas, Baylor, Texas A&M, North Texas and Texas Tech. During the summer Taylor has kept busy playing for Brownwood's seven on seven team which advanced to the Division II Semi-Finals last weekend. The Brownwood WR has also camped at Baylor, North Texas and Rice.
Parker who plans on majoring in Business says he'll likely wait until Signing Day to make a final decision on his future. As for the immediate future Parker has one goal in mind and that's to lead Brownwood to their 8th State Championship, "We want to win state this year, we know with the drop to 3A it won't be easy but with hard work and focus I think we've got a great chance."
