El Paso Hanks has been mired in the middle of the pack in the El Paso 5A ranks the past few years, and Coach Cleveland feels this is his best group of skill players he's had in some time. Hanks hasn't gotten a playoff win since a 1995 bi-district win over El Paso Andress.

On the offensive side of the ball Hanks will depend heavily on WR Ryan Pettis who hauled in six touchdown receptions last year. Pettis however will face lots of double teams and other guys will have to step up to take the load off.

The defense at least early in the season will have to carry the Knights. DL Tevin Williamson is undersized but incredibly quick off the ball, he was first team all 1-5A as a sophomore and with his speed could make an impact on offense also. Jeremy Tarango leads the linebackers, but Coach Cleveland does have concerns in the secondary.

Look for the Knights to again be right in the playoff mix in 1-5A but it'll be in the bottom tier as Franklin and Montwood are the top two teams.
