On the offensive side of the ball, the Tribe has 8 starters back led by RB Chris Hall who was second team all 12-4A as a sophomore. The diminutive but speedy Hall is complimented by bruising 205 pound Jonathan Brown. QB Kyle Stacey is back after throwing for little more than 700 yards and 6 touchdowns, he could get pushed by sophomore Ryan Black. If Black doesn't pan out at QB he could see time at WR. Chris Chilton and Hunter Priest lead the offensive line which has some experience but lacks quality depth and size.
Jacksonville should be improved on defense with 6 starters back. The headliner is LB Antwone Johnson who notched first team all 12-4A honors, his partner in crime is Justin Jones who was a second team all 12-4A performer as a sophomore. The secondary is anchored by Jeremey Chappelle who has big time potential.
Jacksonville should improve on their win total from 2007, however they are still likely on the outside of the playoffs looking in. Despite being in a six team district with four making the playoffs, it'll be tough seeing the Indians beating both Henderson and Lindale to get into the playoffs in 2008.
