Odessa is the team who just never gets any love from the media or in town as they have long played second fiddle to Odessa Permian. The Bronchos football fortunes have been downright miserable as they last made the playoffs in 1997. Expect improvement from OHS but to make the playoffs might be asking much in 2008.

On offense Odessa will be led by QB Derek Teegarden who accounted for over 1700 total yards and 13 touchdowns and earned second team all 3-5A honors. The backfield will be led by RB J.J. Hill, but also keep an eye on sophomore RB Bradley Marquez. Odessa doesn't have a lot of size in their WR group but Miles Torres leads that group as he hauled in five touchdown passes last year earning second team all 3-5A honors and 6'2 Javorian Guyton gives OHS a big target in the passing game. The offensive line is a concern for the Bronchos as their is a lack of depth.

Odessa has major concerns on the defensive side of the ball as just two starters are back. Coach King mentions a lack of size and depth on the defensive line as his number one worry. Dex Denard leads the front seven, while Patrick Mackey is the top player in the linebacking group.

Overall look for OHS to improve on their win total of two ganmes from 2007 in fact they could possibly notch as many as 4 wins but 2-5A is just too deep and strong for OHS to make a legit push for postseason play.
