Nevada Community has a chance to make the playoffs for the first time in quite sometime. Davy DuBose returns 16 starters from a 5-5 team last season. The triumphant return of BJ Dale, a player hurt in a car accident, should be a rallying point for the Braves.
Offensively, BJ Dale makes the offense run. He has good size and speed, especially for 3A football. Tim Underwood and Randall Barber will share snaps in the backfield. A couple of good receivers for the Braves will be on the team. Tanner Marshall is probably the best of the bunch. Chance Crosetti and Phillip McEntyre will help out receiver duties. The offensive line will be a bit above average with Jake Hooks and Samuell Powell.
Some questions will be had defensively. Charlie White anchors the front line along with Samuell POwell. Linebackers seem pretty solid in Matthew Humphreys and Keondre Germany. The secondary will be pretty small and undersized led by James Jahnow and Rigo Viera. Clint Titlow and Gabriel Garcia provide some depth to the defensive secondary.
Overall, this is Nevada Community's best chance at a playoff run in sometime. Princeton and Lovejoy are definite easy wins for Nevada Community. If they can somehow get past Emory Rains or 2A state champion Farmersville, it will be the first playoff team in quite sometime. I'm not sure they will be able to win - either way, the game against Quinlan Ford on November 7th will actually mean something - and that will be a huge upgrade for the Braves.
