The Jasper Bulldogs made a huge turnaround last year in the first season with Thomas Brooks back at the helm. They went from a 2-8 year in 2006 to a 7-5 year in 2007 that included a 2nd round playoff appearance. The Bulldogs have a ton of experience back in the form of 13 returning starters that should get Jasper back into the playoffs once again as they will now be competing in 18-3A with the likes of Carthage, Diboll, Rusk, Center and Huntington.

Jasper returns 5 starters from an offense that averaged 33 points per game in 2007. The leader of the Jasper offense will be QB Dominique Bailey. Bailey enters his first full season as the starting QB after he stepped in last year and had a tremendous season. He finished his sophomore campaign with 44 completions for 1,025 yards and 12 touchdowns and he also rushed 140 times for 1,125 yards and 22 touchdowns. Expect another monster season out of Bailey in 2008. Another big offensive weapon is WR Kwame Spikes. Spikes caught 25 passes for 400 yards and 6 touchdowns last season.

Other Key Players
Ben Armstrong (OL)
Cliff Mitchell (OL)

The Bulldogs welcome 8 starters back on defense for 2008. Last season the Dawgs allowed 21 points per game. Back for the 2008 season is LB Dante Rollins. Rollins had a big year in 2007 after he finished with 155 tackles. Helping out as well at the LB position will be A.J. Bronson and Kadarroe Rawls. CB Ryan Bronson also returns after collecting 6 interceptions last season. Also look for DE Cornelius Gillis to have a productive year in 2008.

Other Key Players
Tim Cauley (FS)
