Beaumont West Brook Bruins

Coach Craig Stump has built quite a successful program at Beaumont West Brook High School since his arrival in 2005. The Bruins have been to the playoffs each year under Stump with two 3rd round trips in 2005 and 2006 and an Area Round trip last season. The Brook has also seen an improved record in each of Stump's 3 seasons at the helm. His first season with the Bruins saw them go 8-2 after seven straight losing seasons. The following year they went 9-4 and last season the Brook finished 10-2 including a perfect 7-0 district record in 21-5A and a District Championship. The Bruins are loaded again as they head into the 2008 season. They return 14 total starters from last year's squad and are primed to make another deep playoff run. If everything goes as planned i can see the Bruins going along way, and it's not out of the question even a District Championship with a win over North Shore.

West Brook welcomes back 8 starters on offense in 2008. Last season the Bruin offense pumped out 36 points per game. QB Christian Louis returns to lead the Bruin offensive attack after having a monster year in 2007. Louis completed 127 passes for 2,031 yards and 18 touchdowns last year. Also back for his senior season is TB Christine Michael who rushed for 1,170 yards on 180 carries with 28 touchdowns. At the skill positions the Bruins are loaded. Quarterback Louis has worked his tail off this Offseason and could be one of the best QB's in the region. Kid can run, has great vision and speed. Certainly College material. The Offensive Line returns three out of five starters from last season and the kids average at least 230 pounds. At Wide Reciever Ryan Grant will be Louis's main target, Grant has tremendous speed and he just adds to the weapons to this Offense. Back to Christine Michael, kid is one of the best in the region and State and will be choosing his College soon. If the Bruins stay healthy watch out!

Other Key Players
Ryan Grant (WR)

Defensively the Bruins welcome back 6 starters from the 2007 team that allowed 18 points per game. All-District LB Taylor Reed will lead the Bruin defense after collecting 92 tackles last season. The Bruin defensive line will also be a strong point as 3 starters return led by DT Roland Bordelon. The Bruins have alot of spped on this side of the ball as well. Linebacker Caleb Gatlin and Defensive Tackle Roland Bordelon will be all over the field just like last season. I really don't see to many weak spots on the Defense and look for the average points giving up to be lower than last season.

Other Key Players
Caleb Gatlin (LB)
