2008 Team Insider: Aldine Macarthur General

Four starters return for the Aldine Macarthur team and there may still be a few holes to fill offensively. But General coach Jerry Drones has proven many times in the past that he can find ways to produce. So what's left in the cupboard at Macarthur? Check out TexasPrepInsider as we highlight your favorite teams in Texas with our previews.

Though there are still a few questions that may not be answered, coach Jerry Drones and the Aldine Macarthur football team usually find ways to make things happen on the field. And that may be the case in 2008 as the Generals only return four (2 OFF, 2 DEF) starters from last season's bi-district playoff team.

Good thing for the Generals is that one of the team's primary playmakers returns with running back Jaquillan Harmason in the backfield. Harmason finished last season 639 yards and five touchdowns. Another running back poised for a big season is Roger Nunnery who picked up 342 yards and four touchdowns as a reserve last season.

Not many bodies returning on the offensive line, but Alvin Townsend and Darryl Small will be in the line up.

Defensively, linebacker Craig Graves leads the defense after racking up 141 tackles and three sacks as a junior. Mark Reed, Alan Rivera, and Jerry Hughes will join Graves. On the front line, Mark McCoy headlines the group. In the secondary, Dominique Howard and Jesse McQueen return.

Last year Macarthur was ranked No. 2 in team defense giving up an average 251.7 yards a game.
