Warren Warriors

The postseason is something that has eluded the Warren Warriors for the better part of this decade. In fact, their only playoff appearance came in 2005 where they lost in the 1st round to East Chambers. Last year the Warriors finished 4-6 overall and 2-4 in district play. Warren returns 9 total starters for 2008 that will try to lead them into the thick of the playoff race in 23-2A.

Offense

The Warriors return 4 starters back from last year's offense that averaged 15 points per game. Leading the offensive attack will be QB Colt Kelley. Kelley finished the 2007 season with 43 completions for 533 yards and 3 touchdowns. Also back is RB Brazos Morris. Morris rushed for 722 yards and 5 touchdowns on 153 carries a year ago. Also look for WR Brandon Young to have a good season after catching 19 passes for 353 yards and 3 touchdowns in 2007. One of the main weaknesses on this Warrior team will be the Offensive Line.

Other Key Players

Casey Word (TE)

Defense

Warren returns 5 defensive starters from last year's unit that allowed 25 points per game. The Warrior secondary will be a strong group led by the above mentioned Young at FS (52 tackles and 4 interceptions in 2007) and CB James Blackshear. Also look for Blake Riley to make an impact from his LB position. The Defense looks to be the strong point for the Warriors. Playing in a District with East Chambers, Anahuac and Kountze the Defense will have to be on top of their game each week.

Other Key Players

Leon Scritchfield (SS)
