2008 Team Insider: Houston Kashmere Rams

Despite how last year turned out for the Houston Kashmere football team, returning 17 starters has to have coach Gary Dunham excited and eager to suit up in 2008. Will this be the year for the Rams to turn things around? Check out TexasPrepInsider as we highlight your favorite teams in Texas with our previews.

After finishing last season with a 2-8 record, the Houston Kashmere team would more than likely want to forget all about and start over fresh. With that behind them, the Rams reload and return 17 (9 OFF, 8 DEF) players from last year's team.

There will be a few personnel changes in the organization, especially on defense. Linebacker Terry Deleon will lead the way for the defense. In the secondary, Joseph Hackley and Jerry Cook will hold things down in the defensive backfield.

Last season, Kashmere was ranked No. 4 in the district giving up a mere 266 yards a game.

Offensively, quarterback Joshua Harris returns to lead the offense. Harris had 554 yards passing and seven touchdowns. He will have familiar targets returning as Dominic Graham (18 catches for 261 yards, two touchdowns) and Steven Ross are back. Look for running back Kendrick Domio to be the workhorse.

The Rams averaged only 204 yards of offense per game in 2007 so they are likely working to be more productive in that capacity.
