After a 3-6 season in 2007, surely the Houston Sterling football team is seeking brighter days. But no worries as coach Dwayne Colbert returns 11 starters from last year's squad.

Offensively the Raiders have a proven workhorse with running back Remond Silas in the backfield. Silas rushed for 1,072 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2007. Under center will likely be returning quarterback James Banks, who made one start last season.

Banks threw for 280 yards and five touchdowns. Also look for quarterback Darnell Jones to get in the rotation as well. The Raiders averaged 266.9 yards last season, which was the fourth best in the district.

On defense, Sterling struggled last season giving up 322.4 yards per game. The raiders have six returning starters and defensive lineman Darius Stewart is the one to keep an eye after recording 52 tackles as a junior.
