Sixteen starters return to a Houston Jones team that made a playoff appearance and finished 6-5 in 2007. With nearly all of the defense (10 of the 16) returning, that is clearly the strength of the team going into 2008.

Last season, though they were ranked No. 5 in the district, the Falcons only gave up 267.8 yards defensively while the leader of the district gave up seven yards less. With the number of starters coming back, that has to bring a smile to coach Ronald Hooker was has put Jones in a good position to win.

In the defensive trenches, look for linemen Gabriel Young and Lonnie Wilson to control the line of scrimmage while linebacker Marcus White leads his position group. In the secondary, Jeremiah Reed and Michael Holmes (who double on offense) return.

Offensively, the Falcons have a trio of playmakers, which includes Morrison Sias, Josh Butler, and Holmes. Last season Jones had a little trouble moving the ball offensively averaging 154.9 yards a game.

But with six starters coming back, look for some improvements.
