District Outlook

District 21 5A is going to be one of the toughest Districts in the Region. Beaumont West brook and Galena Park North Shore in the same District? Both of these teams have a chance to go along way this season, West Brook returns a load of Players and North Shore has tremendous Tradition. The big question will be who finishes up 3rd and 4th.

Beaumont West Brook: The Bruins return 14 starters and 14 good ones. D1 Running Back Christine Michael and Quarterback Christian Louis both return for the Bruins. Coach craig Stump says this may be the best bruin Team he's coached. RB Michael was a scoring machine last season and will be evn better this season. The defense is loaded as well with the likes of Linebacker Taylor Reed.

Galena Park North Shore: North Shore came up just short last season in the State Semi Finals. The Mustangs only return 3 on Offense and and 4 on Defense and just like West Brook they are good ones. TE Barrett Matthews (UT Commit) may be one of the best in the Region and State. Tailback DeAandrew Jones (99-978,3 TD's) will be the top returning rusher for the Stangs. Quarterback Alex Tillman will take the snaps and continues to improve. On Defense the Stangs are loaded with the likes of DT Thad Randle, Matthews, MLB Daniel Salinas.

Port Arthur Memorial Titans: Things have not been great for the Titans the last few years especially on Defense. The Titans return 7 on Defense and look to be improved especially with the likes of DE Radermon Svypion and DB Desmon Gardiner. The strength of this team looks to be the Defense. On Offense the Titans return 3 starters. RB Daleon Sinette and Quarterback Jareal Alexander will lead the Offense. The Titans have the talent to make the Postseason this year.

Baytown Lee: Coach Olin returns 11 starters this season but will have to find a Quarterback. The Ganders will also have a lack of depth this season. Sophomore Running Back C.J. Mixon will have to step up in this District, RB Paul Martinez and Wide Reciever Jahwrann Goode will lead the Offense. Defense looks strong with the likes of CB Thomas Bates (UH Commit) and LT Tim Smith. Look for the Ganders to make a run at a playoff spot in 08 if they stay healthy.

Channelview Falcons: The Falcons even though they missed the playoffs last season had one of their better seasons. The Falcons return 8 total starters and look to their Defense. Defensive Tackle Tyrone Campbell returns and may be one of the best DT's in the area. On Offense RB Denzel Granderson will lead the Offense along with a good Offensive Line. The Falcons have the talent to pull an upset or two on Friday Nights.

Baytown Sterling Rangers: No where to go but up for the Rangers in 08. Bad news is the Rangers lost several players to the new 4A School Goose Creek Memorial. The Rangers will look to QB Keagan Kogut and RB LesRoy Clark to help on Offense in this very tough District. Even though the Rangers lost some players they have enough to improve in 08. On Defense the Rangers look strong with OLB Mark Gray, DB Chris Howard and DE Justin Hudson. Look for the Rangers and Falcons to fight it out for that 5th and 6th spot.
