District 15-5A: Week 2 Predictions

TexasPrepInsider.com has returned for the 2008 football season and we are bringing back our weekly predictions of you favorite teams. Check out who we feel will come away with a win this week. And best of all, you can enjoy this content for free.

Thursday night games
Cy Ridge vs. Katy Cinco Ranch
Cinco Ranch is on a roll with a 2-0 record while Cy Ridge is sitting at 1-1. And though this match up is usually a good game (and it still will be), the Rams are slightly favored. There is too much speed and quickness on the Rams' offense. It will be interesting to see what may be the final face off between Shane Ros and Russell Shepard. Either way, this one will be close, but not too close. Rams win.

Friday night games
Cy Creek vs. Tomball
This should be a good one as both teams are looking for the first win in 2008. Offensively, both teams seem to have no trouble moving the ball, but I see the edge in favor of Tomball. Chad Tarhini and Jordan Leslie have hooked up quite a few times this year, and that is a trend that will likely continue for the Cougars. That should bring win No. 1

Cy Falls vs. North Shore
While Cy Falls continues to put up fights in games, the Golden Eagles have fell to 0-2. And now they face Houston's top-rated team from North Shore. What is an interesting fact is that the Mustang defense has given up 266 yards this season. They are fast hard-hitting, and relentless. This game will be a good one as the two face off, but Cy Falls is slightly outmatched in this one.

Jersey Village vs. Humble
The Falcons are looking for the first win and Humble is looking to bounce back after being handled by Spring. Jersey Village seems to be struggling on the offensive side of the ball averaging just less than 150 yards a game. Humble on the other hand, has a passing game that is producing more than have of the year's total yards. Look for a big game out of Keith Baker as the Wildcats get win No. 2.

Saturday night games
Langham Creek vs. Katy Morton Ranch
The Mavericks will face off against a pass-happy Lobo offense. With that said, the Morton Ranch secondary will likely be tested for the full 48 minutes. But these Mavericks have a potent offense as well with Joe Mitchell and Michael Vinson leading the way. I think this one will be close for one half and then the Mavericks pull away with a win.

Cy Woods vs. Klein Oak
Both teams are coming into the match up on a high note, both earning wins. While the Wildcats are celebrating their first-ever varsity win, they will face off against a veteran Panther team. And even though the comeback victory against A&M Consolidated was commendable, not sure that will be the case this week with Klein Oak. The Panthers have too many weapons on offense.

Cy Fair vs. Deer Park
The start of the 2008 season has not fared too wheel for the Bobcats as Week 2 brings them to Deer Park. The Deer on the other hand have a good passing attack and a strong running game behind Travis Carter. Deer Park wins this one handedly.
