District 15-5A: Week 5 Predictions

TexasPrepInsider.com has returned for the 2008 football season and we are bringing back our weekly predictions of you favorite teams. Check out who we feel will come away with a win this week. And best of all, you can enjoy this content for free.

Cy Woods vs. Jersey Village
If there was any doubts about the "funk" in this Cy Woods team, I think last week's performance against Cy Ridge should silence all of that. Cy Woods quarterback Lucas DeVilliers has been putting up sick numbers this season and I think that trend continues this week. For Jersey Village, the defense has not given up many points, but offensively it seems as though the Falcons are struggling some.

Either way, the Wildcats win.

Cy Fair vs. Langham Creek
The record may not reflect it, but the Langham Creek football team shows plenty of strength. Looking over the schedule, the Lobos have faced some pretty potent opponent thus far. This week they face a Cy Fair team that has not shown much flash at all this season. So, the Lobos are favored in this one and have a solid aerial assault led by Will Bryant. He has distributed the ball well this season.

Look for that to continue at least through this weekend.

Cy Falls vs. Cy Springs
Two years ago if you was to ask if this would be a pretty good match up I would likely tell you that Cy Falls will drop 50 points and win by at least three touchdowns. Well, it's a new day and the Panther team has already matched their total wins from all of last season. Offensively, Hunter Arter and Darrell Lea have led the way. For Cy Falls, quarterback Kolby Gray has shown that there is not a skilled position he cannot play. I think this will be a game of trading scores.

But Cy Falls scores last.

Cy Ridge vs. Cy Creek
Even though Cy Ridge has its chosen leader in quarterback Russell Shepard, the Rams have made sure that the ball is spread to a number of guys. Buys like Arick Jones and Kevin Johnson each have two scores on the year receiving. Hasan Lipscomb is still the workhorse, but has company back there as well. But, the Cougars have their own attack Jermichael Selders leading the way. Look for a close game through one half, and then the Rams take over.
