District 15-5A: Week 7 Previews, Predictions

TexasPrepInsider.com has returned for the 2008 football season and we are bringing back our weekly predictions of you favorite teams. Check out who we feel will come away with a win this week. And best of all, you can enjoy this content for free.

Cy Creek vs. Cy Fair
Only one year ago this would be a really strong match up. But this is a new day and this Creek team is for real. Austin Pugliese, who has proven to be one of the top sleeper quarterbacks in the city, leads the Cougars. He has throw for nearly 1,000 yards and has running back Jermichael Selders in the backfield to tote the load as well. This combo will make things difficult for the Bobcats on the defensive end.

This team is on a mission and is playing some solid ball right now. May be a little early to put this out there, but the Cougars seemed to be running the table and have already knocked off two of the top teams in the district. Like I said, its early but…

Cy Woods vs. Cy Springs
Here is a match up of two teams that are fighting for one of the big four post-season spots. Both will look to set the tone early. For Springs, Darrell Lea has been key in the rushing and passing game, while Woods has its fearless leader in Lucas DeVilliers. Look for this one to be decided in the final quarter as both teams have proven that they can put points on the board.

Close call, but my vote is for the Wildcats.

Cy Falls vs. Cy Ridge
Big stage anyone? This game will be televised on ESPNU and look for the emotions to be high on both sides. Falls is coming off a win while Ridge fell last week. But last week does not matter and the quarterback duel between Cy Falls' Kolby Gray and Cy Ridge's Russell Shepard will be in full effect. As both have proven that they are able to beat teams by run or pass, I think that defense decides this one and the slight edge is with the Rams.

Langham Creek vs. Jersey Village
Last week, Langham Creek turned a few heads after knocking off Cy Falls. The Lobos' insane passing attack will likely give all of the teams in this league trouble, including their next opponent Jersey Village. The Falcons are still looking for that first win and it will be tough this week. Langham Creek quarterback Will Bryant is playing some good ball right now and has good targets in Brent Reece and Mitchell Juergens. This combination could be bad…if you are a Jersey Village fan.
