Junior Safety Drawing Interest

TPI was on hand Friday night in Friendswood as the Mustangs beat Dawson 61-28 and we caught up with some of the Mustang players after the game to get their thoughts, as well as recruiting updates.

Friendswood Mustangs Junior Andrew Cole is a player that has emerged early on as a player who could make an impact on next years recruiting class.

The college programs that are contacting him early on are recruiting him at Safety, but the talented Junior was used primarily at running back Friday.
His versatility was a value to the Mustangs this week as he rushed for 125 yards and 2 touchdowns in the win.

We caught up with Cole after the game Friday to get some thoughts on where he stands and what teams he is hearing from.

" Over the summer I went to camps at Houston, I though that went pretty well, and I also went to the UTEP camp, and I went to a Texas A&M camp."

So far there are a number of teams across the country that have been in contact with Cole.

"I have been getting mail right now from Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, LSU, Iowa State, Stanford, and some other schools too."

Although it is still early in the process, Cole does have a list of early favorites.

"Yes Sir I like Texas Tech, Texas A&M, and UofH"

Cole is focused on getting better, and has one big goal he keeps in the front of his mind.

"I just want to play hard, and hopefully I'll get some good breaks, because college football...it is where it's at."

Stay tuned to TPI for all the latest news on the Mustangs as well as Andrew Cole.
